Wheelset

Would it be an upgrade or just wasting?

I'd be interested is there any difference between the three "lowest-ranked" campagnolo wheelsets, ie.: Khamsin, Vento, Scirocco.

I know that one can use the same freehub-axle for the three types. I'm riding Khamsins, I love them, but now I'd have the opportunity to buy Sciroccos, almost brand new for lower price than new khamsins (price'd be 150bucks).

Do these wheelsets differ in anything else beside weight? I don't really care whether my wheels weigh 1980 or 1790 grams, as long as the hubs spin up fast and keep the speed well.

Gipiemme Paia Ruote Carbon H6.0

Price:
£1175.00

The Gipiemme Carbon H6.0 tubular wheels are a good aero option suitable for most conditions, and they come in at a reasonable price for this kind of wheel.

Gipiemme make these wheels in Italy using 100% carbon fibre monocoque rims that are 60mm deep and 20mm wide. The hubs are Gipiemme's own GPMClights, made from forged aluminium, and they spin on sealed bearings – although you can get DT Swiss 240 hubs for £100-£150 more. When I say Gipiemme make these wheels in Italy, they make both the hubs and the rims in their own factory.

What wheelset??

Hi, I'm looking to get a new set of wheels for my Specialized Roubaix Road Bike. The current wheels on are mavic open pro rims and unknown hubs. They have no markings on whatsoever.

The wheelsets I have been looking at are the mavic aksium, shimano RS20, shimano RS30, fulcrum 7, campagnolo khamsin and also mavic open pro rims with shimano 105 hubset.

I'm 74kg and use my bike to commute and also training around the saddleworth area and doing the odd sportif. Approx 75-150 miles per week.

I am so unsure as to what is best and to suit.

FSA Team Issue wheelset

Price:
£699.99

With a RRP of £700 (but easily found in the sales online for around £550), the FSA Team Issue wheelset straddles the middle ground between your everyday do-it-all wheels on one side, and more exotic carbon creations on the other.

Though not one of the big names in wheel manufacturing, FSA's wheel range is deep and, combined with its spin-off company Vision, has all the bases covered from entry-level, right up to race-day carbon tubular.
