Ultegra

Per title, I've taken delivery of my new spanky Ultegra wheels and I've had a helluva job getting tyres on. The rims are tubeless compatible (so says the sticker) although I'm trying to run normal clinchers.
I couldn't get Bontrager tyres on, I struggled with Conti Super sports, and I finally got a pair of Conti Grand prix's on after a complete mare and (shame oh shame) a couple of broken tyre levers. The obvious problem will be if I ever get a flat out on the road I'll be calling home for a lift.

Although it's great to look at new and shiny Dura Ace (and Di2) kit, it's always the announcement of the new Ultegra groupsets that generates the most excitement here at road.cc towers. Ultegra has always been the smart choice in the Shimano range: affordable enough to be a serious consideration with first dibs on all that innovation trickling down from the top.

does anyone know the difference between these two 'groupsets', apart from the £30 price (as seen in a CW ad.). Are they significantly different in weight? look? etc. ta.

We've seen Ultegra 6700 before, but last time it was pre-production prototypes made of plastic and we had to take Shimano's word for how good it was going to be. This time, however, it was the real deal: a real production groupset fitted to a real bike. 6700 won't hit the shops (or be specced on bikes) until probably the end of August, but on first impressions it's going to be one to look out for... and save your pennies for.
