Turbo
Recovering from injury...(aka rollers, road shoes and turbos!)
So I have just returned from around a year off the bike due to serious injury and I find myself with a reasonable level of fitness, I want to get good again.
1) I need new cleats, shoes, the works, what would make a good pair for around £100? Best shoes? Best pedals?
2) Any advice on buying rollers? Do people prefer turbos? Are there good makes to look out for?
Thanks!
Im about to buy a cheap turbo....
Im about to purchase a nice cheap turbo. I cant afford Tacx or any other brand but am keen on the B'win in ride. Especially as the brand seems to be getting a good rep.
Does anyone have any experiance of this or any other unbranded turbos? Amazon for instance seems to have a few for around £60 which im tempted but unsure!
Turbo is eating my tyres
With all this snow I have been mostly riding a turbo in my garage. After each ride I have a pile of rubber particles (about 1mm in size) on the floor behind the bike. It's a TACX magnetic trainer (usual friction drive setup) - is this a sign of too much/too little tension, tyre pressure, worn turbo or just one of those things that happens with a turbo?

Elite Chrono Hydro-Mag Turbo Trainer
Good afternoon you lovely pedallers.
I have this turbo on loan from a club-mate who says he's only ridden it once since purchase a couple of years ago. The idea was that if I like it, I can have it from him for half what he paid. So I stuck the bike on it last night, but it's not centred on the drum - the drum isn't even perpedicular to the wheel, so using it would result in uneven tyre wear.
Minoura Live Ride 760 Training system
Active turbo trainers are becoming more widespread; trainers which provide data feedback to the user. Minoura have approached things slightly differently, with their Live Training System that integrates via iPhone with their existing trainers to provide power readings.
These are the prices are the various elements:
Live Ride 760 trainer £299.99
Wahoo key £67
Speed/cadence sensor £49.99
HR strap £49.99
App £6.99
Total £473.96
Indoor training and DVD's
Hi,
Just looking to get some advice really and any feedback from people who may have used traning videos.
I completed my first tour in May of this year. Loved every minute of it and couldn’t wait to get back on the bike. Cut a long story short, I have really damaged my left hamstring and my left hip isn’t working too well. I am seeing a specialist about this at the moment who has advised its OK to ride until im in a moderate amount of pain, he would prefer the turbo as I can get off at any point. If im in the middle of the countryside it could be harder to get home.
