Recovering from injury...(aka rollers, road shoes and turbos!)
So I have just returned from around a year off the bike due to serious injury and I find myself with a reasonable level of fitness, I want to get good again.
1) I need new cleats, shoes, the works, what would make a good pair for around £100? Best shoes? Best pedals?
2) Any advice on buying rollers? Do people prefer turbos? Are there good makes to look out for?
Thanks!
Minoura Live Ride 760 Training system

These are the prices are the various elements:
Live Ride 760 trainer £299.99
Wahoo key £67
Speed/cadence sensor £49.99
HR strap £49.99
App £6.99
Total £473.96
Cyclops Pro Indoor Cycle Training bike
Wondering if anyone has had any experience of the CycleOps indoor training bikes--specifically the Pro 300 or 400. NOT turbo trainers. Thanks
Which Turbo Trainer?
I've finally decided to buy a new turbo trainer (just in time for summer) and have narrowed it down to 4. They are all similarly priced, and far as I can tell, there are no real differences between them. I've read loads of reviews, they all seem to have positives with no negatives - it seems that I may as well base the purchase on colour.
The four in questions are:
CycleOps Mag+
Elite Novo Mag Gel
Tacx Sirius Soft Gel
Blackburn Tech Mag 6

Here is my Kinesis T2 frame (RRP £250) and Kinesis 7075 aluminium trainer fork (RRP £55) brand new and unused. Reason for sale is; I cannot afford a groupset and am used to single speed now, so am selling to fund parts towards my new single speed bike.
PLEASE NOTE: It's the frame and fork only; also these brand new are going for £200 for the frame only so you're getting a fork basically for free with it! Frame size is also suitable for a woman.
Specs are as follows:

Seatpost: 27.2mm
Front mech clamp: 31.8mm

Anyone tried 3LC:Climbing?
Just wondered if anyone tried the 3lc climbing trainer vid?
Though I might give it a shot and try to build my slender body to at least become better prepared to climb over the winter, but don't know if its better (more effective, motivating) than just doing 'normal' intervals?
Never used one of those vids, but it could be interesting having it on my ipod when I sit in the gym (?)
Spare wheel for the turbo...
Hi folks - I've just set up my indoor torture facility in the garage, and after the first ride I've already noticed a change in my rear tire. I know that wear is accelerated on a trainer, and plan to get a trainer tire this week. However - I need a spare wheel to put it on. It clearly doesn't need to be an amazing one, and I'd like to keep the cost of it down as much as possible. It'll need an Ultegra standard 10 speed cassette on it.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
First Trainer - Advice Sought!
Hello all - I'm in the market for an indoor trainer and having initially very much fancied the Revolution, the jet like howl it produces plus the fairly stone age computer are putting me off. I'm also looking at the CycleOps range, but it's irritating that I'll require a spare back wheel with a trainer tyre (although this'll still be cheaper than the Revolution).
WTD: Turbotrainer
Please may someone help? On the lookout for a turbo as it looks like I won't be able to get out on the open road anytime soon. I'm moving between London (Victoria), High Wycombe and Oxford for the next month if this helps at all.
Many thanks,
James
