We've just been sent this video from Muc-Off, filmed at last month's Tour of Britain, following the (mostly) young Rapha-Condor JLT squad. This is from Stage 6, which started in Sidmouth and had a summit finish on Haytor, Dartmoor.

Simon Yates, riding for Great Britain and now headed with twin brother Adam to Orica-GreenEdge as first-year pros in 2014, won the stage.

Tour of Britain organisers mystified at UCI refusal to upgrade race

Tour of Britain organisers SweetSpot Group have expressed disappointment that the UCI has not upgraded the status of the British national tour for 2014.

The UCI classifies road stage races on a four-category scale from the lowest, 2.2, through 2.1, 2.HC and WT. As you move up the scale, organisers are obliged to provide greater prize money and the race and its stages attract more UCI points. All of that makes the event more attractive to top riders.

Lizzie Armitstead: I’m disappointed in Brian Cookson

Lizzie Armitstead has spoken of her ‘disappointment’ in the UCI presidential candidate Brian Cookson, for failing to do more for women’s cycling.

The Olympic road race silver medallist  and British national champion says that Cookson has not addressed her and other female road cyclists’ concerns about sexism in the sport, accusing him of only listening to track riders including Jo Rowsell and Laura Trott, whose track careers do not face the same limitations.

Being a professional bike racer is tough.

Maybe not so much in the sun on a flat transitional stage of the Tour de France that's mostly sunflowers and chatting with a sprint at the end. But chasing back on to a charging peloton, up the 25% slopes of Honister Pass, in the rain, after you've stacked it earlier in the stage? That doesn't sound like much fun. And let's be honest: there's more days like that in the life of a pro than there are glory days of helicopter pan shots, dark lenses and glass-smooth tarmac.

Just thought that I'd share one or two photos from the start of the Tour of Britain today, Glad the weather is improving as it was lousy this morning Crying

Choice was to cycle down or drive and take the camera. Hope you enjoy the photos!......

(I particularly like Sir Brailsford, who was great with the people outside the 'Death Star' )
