TT bike bottom bracket - cable guide problem
Hi folks
I'm currently in the process of building up a TT bike (2008 Orbea Ordu) and when I went to fit the cable guide (a regular Shimano one) I found that the bottom bracket is too beefy for the cable guide to fit.
Does anyone know of any other kinds of cable guide that are available, specifically for bigger bottom brackets?
Thanks for taking the time to read!
Advice on buying a TT bike
Hello All,
I completed a few time trials last year on my road bike - a Giant TCR Advanced 2, size medium-large (53.5cm). This year I'm taking the plunge and buying a time trial bike.
I have two questions. Firstly, I've heard from some people that you generally choose a size down from your road bike. Is that correct?
Secondly, I'm on a limited budget of around £1200. I've see the Kestrel bikes on CRC - and the Kestrel Talon Tri - Shimano 105 2013 looks to tick all the boxes for me. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=82204
WTD: Triathlon friendly TT bike
Am looking to make the step up to a dedicated TT/Triathlon bike, primarily for Triathlon but also hopefully for a few time trials next season.
Have been looking at used options trying to make my money go further and keep the cost down as money is tight. Like the look of Specialized, Trek, Planet X and Cannonade but am open to different makes or models.
Would consider both a full bike or just the frame which I can then build up. Ideally looking for a carbon and happy to upgrade components or add wheels myself if need be.
Wilier TwinFoil frameset
Whoosh! There you go. That's my review distilled into one word – the new Wilier TwinFoil is one fast bike.
Although when viewed from the side the TwinFoil looks vaguely similar to a bunch of other time trial bikes, the front end is very unusual and the frame boasts several innovative features all designed to reduce drag and maximize your speed. Even as pro-level TT bikes go, this is seriously quick.
