Team Garmin-Slipstream

Magic in the mountains

As a bloke approaching my 40's, the thought of not having had a proper day in the mountains on a bike was hitting me hard.

The 20th anniversary of my first race had gone and past a few weeks ago, it had been a 2-up time trial with my first and current club Fenland Clarion.

So the chance of a day's guided riding and coaching with Girona based Bikecat, whilst on holiday, was too good a birthday treat to miss!!

Are transfer saga’s good for any sport?

The whole situation surrounding Bradley Wiggins is turning into high farce and the main loser will end up being the Garmin/Slipstream rider. Any energy he is spending on this proposed transfer to Team Sky (even if it is mental) is going to be detrimental next July.

I have looked back at many of sports protracted transfer dealings and the short answer is that no-one wins in these situations.

Could a cycling trip beat a stag party?

I am not your typical stag do kind of guy. Partying and boozing aren't on my radar (I claim my bad drinking is down to not having a full set of kidneys... not sure if that is true), something which has been putting me under pressure in the run up to my wedding next April.

But could a cycling trip be a possible solution to keep the groom happy (and away from wandering around Budapest dressed as a chicken?).
