Sugoi's Firewall 220 Zip water and wind resistant softshell is a great fitting piece of clothing that works well the in the saddle and is ideal for other sports too.

The jacket is created using a mixture of Sugoi's Firewall 220 and MidZero fabrics. To try and create the holy grail of weather protection and breathability the Firewall 220 material is used on the jacket front, upper back and shoulders.

Priced at just £60 (and nearer £40 on some websites) the new Sugoi RPM bib shorts offer outstanding value for money with performance that wouldn't be out of place on shorts costing twice as much.

The Sugoi RS bib shorts put in an excellent performance, keeping you especially cool and comfortable in hot weather.

I've had a pair of these shorts for three or four years now and they still get regular use. They're probably the best Sugoi product I've used and these new ones are even better, largely thanks to an upgraded seat pad.

The Sugoi Firewall GTs are well made windproof gloves that are really comfortable in cool weather.

They're mostly nylon with polyurethane in there to provide windproofing – and they do keep the cold air out well. They're water-resistant too, although not waterproof; your hands will get wet if it rains hard during your ride.

The Sugoi RS Zero jersey is insulating and breathable, putting in a solid performance in cool conditions.

This top is made from a polyester/spandex mix; it's essentially a Roubaix fabric like fleecy tights and leg warmers. That means it's soft, warm and very breathable although it's not windproof so you'll want a gilet or lightweight jacket over the top on cold winter days.
