Astana’s Jakob Fuglsang was outsprinted - you might say outsmarted - by Garmin-Sharp’s Dan Martin for the win in the 9th stage of the Tour de France yesterday, but the 28-year-old Danish rider proved again that he’s a serious talent at the top level.
Earlier this season, Fuglsang finished fourth in the Dauphiné while he won both the Tour of Luxembourg and the Tour of Austria last year. He also has a fourth place finish in Amstel Gold and 11th overall in the Vuelta to his name.
As we reported at the weekend, Mark Cavendish rolled out onto stage 1 of the Tour de France with SRAM’s Red Hydraulic Road Rim (HRR) brakes. He’s the first rider to use them in any World Tour race. Apparently, after testing riding them before the race, Cav was insistent on running the new brakes in the Tour, although we don't know if any of that is marketing spin.
I have for sale my Specialized Transition Pro TT bike. It is a size medium and was purchased less than two years ago - my specialized dealer will confirm, plus I have the receipt. It has the full Dura Ace group set and shifters. It also comes with two Prologo Evo TTR saddles (one black and one white) attached to separate seat posts - one for long distance races with the cages attached and one without. It's easier to change them this way than remove the cage clamps! The Profile design crushed carbon bars were also new @ £600.
The Tour de France is a prime time for manufacturers to launch new products, and Specialized have chosen today to officially unveil their new S-Works Evade aero helmet. The development helmets have been getting plenty of action this season, Mark Cavendish has been wearing one most of the year.
Okay, I'm not sure how many US folks are on the forums, but I might as well try. I'm not really interested in an international sale. Sorry.
