Howies Brenin Jacket
The Howies Brenin jacket has left me somewhat torn. Objectively £100 is a lot to pay for a featherweight polyester shell that feels as if it will rip come the first skirmish with a vindictive bramble. On the flip side, it's been the most comfortable jacket I've ever used, with superb moisture management that keeps tempo with increasingly spirited efforts.
Endura Pakajak
First things first: well done Endura, I like the name,"Pakajak", sounds like "Crackerjack", and indeed "Snack-A-Jack" so we've got off to a decent start. Apart from that, the Pakajak is a lightweight windproof that's also showerproof and easily stowable, which are other good features.
Agu Secco Condom Jacket
The first thing to bear in mind when reviewing a jacket called a Secco Condom is that there's no point in making any jokes about the name because they simply won't be funny. So we're not going to do that. Let's get that straight right from the start.
Santini H2O Epic Jacket
This jacket doesn't offer the ultimate in waterproofing but it keeps you dry in most conditions and has the advantage of being hugely breathable. See it as an all-round jacket rather than as simply a rain jacket and it starts to justify its price tag.
