Disinterested sales staff & poor service

Went to spend some serious money on new pair of shoes.
Thanks to the shit-tastic staff at both Evans and Cycle Surgery I'll be buying them online at either Wiggle or CRC.

Traditional complain that they are being undercut by online stores but they've clearly missed the point. I'll buy online sometimes as it's convenient, but I'll generally go to a shop and happily pay a bit extra for good service and advice.

If people are going to hire surly, disinterested staff I'll get my advice on the forum and spend my cash online where the overall experience is happier.

Fancy opening up a bike shop with me?

Ever dreamt of opening up an awesome bike shop in the centre of London? ....me to
Over the past year, myself and my business partner have been setting up the contacts, finances and location for a bike shop in the centre of London. Everything is in place. The brands, location (lease), and bank loan.
However, at the last moment, my partner has just pulled out on me. He feels he can’t risk the capital required to start it up and is worried about the risk of competition in the area.

Rapha Cycle Club launch night

It was the launch of Rapha's new cycle club last Wednesday (5th May) and I went to poke my nose in and see what you get for being a member. It isn't a club where you pay membership fee, or a place where women writhe on a pole and it isn't a place to go all night raving either, what you get is a place where you can join a community of fellow passionate cyclists and watch cycling on a couple of big screens whilst sat at an enormous banquet table that stretches the entire length of the main room and enjoy a small coffee.

Bobbins

Yesterday evening, with the lure of free alcohol, I cycled over to the new Bobbins bike shop. They plied me with white wine whilst showing off their new range of clothing and bikes. Bobbins isn't like a normal bike shop, it is a bicycle boutique catering for the more discerning, fashion conscious, urban cyclist.
