BMC Granfondo GF02 105 (2013)

Price:
£1400.00

The BMC GF02 105 is BMC's take on the endurance/sportive bike category, joining the likes of Specialized and Trek in offering a more comfortable bike which can also be raced. Its carbon big brother – the GF01 – was developed with the northern classics in mind and has been raced there with success under the likes of Thor Hushovd and Taylor Phinney. Evidently, the race pedigree is there, but what remains to be seen is how this translates to the cheaper aluminium framed 02.

Winter Project - Part 4 – It's Finished, It Could Be The Start Of Something Beautiful

And finally. It is done. The last pieces of the puzzle quickly greased and slotted into place whilst “Four In A Bed” was on. Seatpost, bars and stem all from the same manufacturer, collar and cuffs people, collar and cuffs. 3T supply the Dorico Pro seatpost, Arx Pro stem and shallow drop Ergonova Pro bars with a nice flattened top for gripping and chewing on. Rumours that they were chosen for the fact that their simple black and white graphics matched the black and white theme of the bike are pure conjecture. Ahem.

Winter Project - Part 3 - Pausing, Stopping And Going.

There’s been a bit of a stutter with the project, just like all projects seem to suffer, shuffling all the parts together, waiting a bit, getting distracted by other stuff, but the hiemal grip is still tight and cold and dark so it’s still officially a Winter Project, and there’s still a lot of time to be spent hiding in the shed for while. “Strictly…” may be over, thank God, but “Come Dine With Me” seems to be on constantly, Lord save me.

Isaac Kaon

Price:
£1880.00

The Isaac Kaon is Isaac's entry level road offering - insomuch as a bike costing the better part of two grand can be called that. Mat's 'first look' gives you the whole technical lowdown on the bike, so I'll skip straight through to how it actually rides on the road.

Braking Problem

Hi, I have a braking issue on a bike, bought new in Jan/Feb this year. Since very shortly after acquiring it the rear brake of the Shimano 105 is quite 'sticky'. What I mean is that rather than a nice smooth pull on the lever to gradually apply and increase braking power it takes a good firm squeeze to apply this initial force which results in the initial force being too great. It's not a case of having to pull the lever a certain distance until the brake engages but of having to move the lever a certain distance until any effect occurs.
