Rollers

Wanted - rollers & old unwanted road bike

Odd request but would anyone in the South West like to do a poor student a massive favour, help with my uni work and lend me some rollers to borrow for no longer than a week? Or do you have an old road bike that you no longer want, condition doesn't matter as long as it kind of works.

If you'd like to help me please get in touch, let me know your email and we can work something out and arrange some sort of deposit/compensation for your troubles

Thanks in advance, would be doing me a massive favour if anyone could help me out!

Recovering from injury...(aka rollers, road shoes and turbos!)

So I have just returned from around a year off the bike due to serious injury and I find myself with a reasonable level of fitness, I want to get good again.
1) I need new cleats, shoes, the works, what would make a good pair for around £100? Best shoes? Best pedals?
2) Any advice on buying rollers? Do people prefer turbos? Are there good makes to look out for?
Thanks!

Roto Training Rollers - any good?

As above really -

Rollers...What's the skinny on them?

Hi,

Looking for some feedback on rollers as considering adding them to my indoor training regime (have a cyclops mag turbo). I've been looking online and there seems to be a lot of things to consider: parabolic, aluminium, with resistance or without, big or little gauge, etc. Any feedback is appreciated. Oh, I don't want to spend a huge amount of money but I do want to get something that will stand the test of time and work outdoors/indoors. Maybe, I can rent some first before making a commitment...?

Roller trainer blowout - is this normal???

I recently bought a Tacx Antares roller trainer. I've used it a few times and it's been fine. However tonight my tyre blew up - is this common with trainers?

I was working on improving cadence so riding a bit faster than usual up to about 24mph.

Or is it down to a cheap inner tube and tyres - recently bought a Trek 2.1 and it came with fairly cheap bontrager tyres on it in case that's the problem?

Increase leg speed (max cadence)

I'd like to increase my maximum leg speed, I have a road bike and a set of rollers, any suggestions?

I thought a spinning class would be a good idea, I went to my gym and said I wanted to increase my maximum leg speed and that I currently spin out at 180-185 rpm on my bmx and they said they couldn't help as they don't go up that high, do you guys have any suggestions?

No matter that the days are still long and the sun shining, Italy's home trainer maker still needs to launch its new range.

Aluminium training rollers - brand recommendation

Hi - we are looking to buy some new aluminium training rollers, but have no experience as to what brands deliver the best value for money.

In mind are the CycleOps and JetBlack brands, both of whom do aluminium rollers at around £150-170. Can anyone provide any positive or negative experiences with any of these brands, or know of better products in the same price range?

Many thanks,
Neil.
