1986 Peugeot Ventoux Recondition - Tips?
Gents and Gentesses,
My stephdad bought a Pegeout Ventoux in the mid-eighties to cycle the infamous 540km "Strenght Test" from Trondheim - Oslo, which I might add, he didn't complete back then so we're having a go maybe next year.
Anyways - he kept the bike; a 1986 (?) Peugeot Ventoux which I find exceptionally nice!
NOTHING has been done on the bike since 1986.. Same rubber.. same tubes.. etc
I tried to ride the bike and every second felt like I was about to crash and die a painful death.
Pinnacle Evaporite One
The Pinnacle Evaporite One is a new bike from Evans that's aimed at high-mileage riders but we found it too stiff for all-day comfort.
Evans Cycles has been offering its in house Pinnacle brand for a few years now and 2012 brings a new carbon frame to the range. It's found on the Evaporite One, Two and Three, all with varying levels of finishing kit depending on price. A quick scan of the blurb on Evans' website explains this model as, "A bike aimed at the sportive and big mile riders looking for speed and comfort." Sounds like me.

Marin Mill Valley ALP Bike 2010 - For Sale
I am selling my Marin Mill Valley ALP bike having recently upgraded to a road bike.
The Marin is 18 months old and has been used to commute a short distance to work.
It has always been looked after and well maintained. There is a slight graze to the top tube that is minimal but other than that the bike is in A1 condition. The only addition to the original spec is Continental Sport Contact Tyres. This is a 2010 model with 22" frame, carbon forks and seat stays.

Cannondale CAAD10 Ultegra
'High performance aluminium is back' say the folks at Canondale and after riding the CAAD10, I'd be inclined to agree. Canondale are experts at the aluminium road bike, producing favourites among those looking for a capable race machine without the price tag of a top-level carbon option. The CAAD 10 is the latest incarnation, available in various finishing kits. We put the Ultegra version through its paces.
