Healthspan & GBG NightRide 2014

October 11, 2014 - 17:30
nightride@healthspan.co.uk

The NightRide is now in its second year. A beautiful route that sees riders cruising along the West coast of the beautiful island of Guernsey at sunset, then through the countryside and into the pretty harbour of St. Peter Port as it starts to get dark. Quiet roads, stunning environment, fun-lit bikes and friendly fancy dressed riders make this the most atmospheric sportive of the year.

10, 25, 50 and 75 mile routes mean something for everyone.

Les Cimes du Lac d'Annecy

October 5, 2014 - 08:00
www.44south.co.uk

The last main alpine sportive of the season and what a corker. With the long climb from lake Annecy up to the top of Semnoz as part of the route incredible views are a given with lake Annecy spread below you and Mt Blanc overlooking you. That's if you have time to take it all in with some incredible descents in store as well, all finished off with a good meal and a glass of wine French style.

For more info please drop us a line at info@44south.co.uk or have a look at our website for more sportives that we are supporting this summer and what else we can offer here in the Alps.

FS Shimano Tiagra STI shifters, front derailleur and Ultegra rear mech

Hello ladies and gents,

I have for sale a set of Shimano Tiagra 10 spd STI shifters and front mech with an Ultegra rear mech. They are off my brand new Boardman Team Carbon Ltd 2013 and have only been 10 miles before being upgraded.

Reason for sale is that I have upgraded to SRAM Rival and they are currently sitting in my spares drawer gathering dust. They are in mint condition and 100% working. Can include shift and brake inners too if requested.

Asking for £180 for the lot but may consider selling items individually if requested and the offer is reasonable.

Time Megeve Mont Blanc Sportive

June 9, 2013 - 07:00
www.44south.co.uk

The Time Megeve is a classic on the Alpine Sportive calendar. It isn't as busy as some of the larger events, attracting around 2500 participants, making for a really good and friendly atmosphere.

The scenery is spectacular the whole way around, and it is an ideal ride to include in your preparation for events later in the season such as the Etape or Marmotte. It's also a serious ride of its own, and a great chance to tick off some Tour de France Cols such as the Aravis, Saises and Croix Fry.

For sale : Commencal frame. 58 cm very rare with EXTRAS. £100

PRICE INCLUDES FRAME, HEADSET, SEATPOST, BARS, STEM, SHIFTERS

Binning it is never nice

Coming off the bike is never nice.

I never crashed a bike when I was 20 stone so I wonder if the extra “padding” I had would've helped cushion the fall?  It's all irrelevant now, the fact is that skin, bone and muscle take a bash when you fall off, asphalt is very unyielding and lycra is about as protective as your mum's best doiley.

“A cyclist is always between crashes.”
