Protective
Protective Ceduna Kid's Jacket
The Protective Ceduna Kid's jacket is precisely that: a lightweight, scaled down wind/water repellent shell that weighs next to nothing and packs down to the size of a small adult's gilet. A great, race-inspired cut means that young protgs can ride like the clappers without hindrance, while the long elasticated tail and cuffs keep wind-chill at bay.
Protective Washington 3/4 Padded Trousers
Protective’s Washington ¾ length trousers are the most practical and stylish I’ve encountered to date. Separating them from the legions of similarly excellent garments is the universally flattering cut that compliments all genres of machine, ensuring daylong comfort regardless of riding style. Step off the bike and their sharp, stealth detailing means you’ll be taken seriously around the office and incognito down the pub.
Protective Undershort
Protective under shorts are a natural choice for commuting and other utility riding, retaining the seamless, flattering profile of ¾,lengths and/or smart cotton trews thanks to the Polyester based material’s wicking prowess and neatly contoured synthetic chamois. However, worn under heavier pile touring plusses, cut closer to boxer shorts they rode up my thighs, resulting in bunching and painful chafing, so stick with more traditional inserts for longer/faster paced riding.
Protective Silas long sleeve top
Describing Protective’s Silas as a hybrid of jersey and winter training jacket implies compromise when it is in fact an ideal addition to your winter wardrobe worn with a high quality base layer. Complete with full-length zip and winter weight it feels every bit as inviting as it looks. Tectron Warm is a very sophisticated double-layered knitted fabric proving that not all Polyester garments are the same.
Protective Boto trousers
Protective’s Boto are probably the most civilian and arguably best of the biking baggy trouser breed, closer to combat fatigues sans bike but thanks to clever detailing and a cycling specific cut you can cut a dash in the saddle just as easily as sashaying past the boss in more conservative offices. Sure, you’d never consider racing in them but otherwise they’re perfect for general riding, commuting, touring and even a bit of off-road action.
