Oval r911 JetStream II forks

Price:
£449.99

These are the brand new (and very posh) forks from Oval, the r911. Two models have been released that are underpinned by the same technology, the r911 (tested here) and the a911 which is intended for flat out, aerodynamic efforts such as time trials and triathlons. The r911 is the road performance model, it has raked blades for improved comfort and more responsive handling as well as being lighter for happier hill climbing while the blade shape is legal to use in both UCI and ITU (International Triathlon Union) sanctioned events.

Oval Concepts R900 Carbon Road Bar

Price:
£125.99

These snazzy R900 carbon bars from Oval are an ideal upgrade for your Sunday best bike or a nice bit of lightweight bling if you're building up from scratch. Of course, if you're like me then you'll fit them to a single-speed commuter hack made from pig iron. No, it's not exactly a match made in bike heaven, but the roads round here are rougher than Simon Cowell's tongue with a few cheeky hills thrown in for good measure. If that doesn't show up a handlebar's weaknesses then I don't know what will.

Oval Concepts R900 stem

Price:
£99.99

It's not often that I get to play with the same pimpy kit that pro-teams use, but according to Oval, this is the stem of choice for Silence-Lotto and Garmin-Chipotle. Ok, so Garmin have changed sponsor a few times since they were paid to advertise Tex-Mex fast food, but even so, this is the same stem that chaps like Millar, Evans and McEwen used. The question is, it may have been good enough for them, but is it good enough for a portly middle-aged kit reviewer?
