At last, the One23 Bar Saver is an elegant solution to the problem of finding extra bar space for gadgets!

There's no getting away from the brute ugliness of handlebar extensions. The Bar Saver from One23 is a far more elegant solution, using the bolts on your stem cap to attach a plastic bar that can be used for lights, a computer or whatever other gadgetry you wish to festoon your cockpit with. Mounting on the stem cap also means that it lines up evenly and helps to maintain a harmonious aspect.

When it comes to selecting the right multi-tool there are many decisions to be factored in. Do you want to carry out repairs on the fly or have a mobile workshop?

One23 is a brand that you've probably never heard of, but it has a vast catalogue of bike components and ephemera to choose from and flicking to the 'Tools' pages you'll find this cheery multi-coloured Hex-Key Set.

One23 Intense bright 1 is a remarkably solid, well-conceived compact commuter lamp with excellent optics, weather seals and peripheral illumination that shames some household names. On the flip-side, Halos limit effective navigation beyond 15mph and battery consumption is pretty poor by modern standards too, although you can of course use rechargeables.

The One23 Ceramic/Carbon is a trick Shimano compatible bottom bracket that is sure to spruce up your drivetrain.

A quick spin of the pedals with this model installed and I was quite simply blown away (sad, I know)! There is noticeably less friction than with my usual Shimano XT BB installed; the smoothness approached that of a quality ISIS style bottom bracket.

This light is tough, waterproof and highly effective, with enough runtime that you won't get caught out even on longer night-time rides.

So far as I can tell, this is a rebadged version of the RSP Asteri 3 that Big Dave tested back in March. He gave it the thumbs up and who am I to argue with a man who has been through more lights than Blackpool Illuminations?

One23’s 1-watt extreme light has plenty to offer commuters and winter training bikes nervous about piling on the grams through the darker months. A choice of handlebar or helmet mounting coupled with good build quality means it’s well suited as a complementary system for a spot of rough stuff too.
