Handlebars
Better, lighter contact points
I've already swapped out the RS10s for RS80s and lighter tyres on my 2011 CAAD10 105. This saved about 700g. I'm now looking at the C3 bars, seat post and prologo kappa saddle as places to reduce the weight of my bike. I'm about 70kg and 6' 4", so looking at my bike as a place to reduce weight without spending a fortune.
It has pretty much this spec, but 105 brakes

A bit of research and some weighing show me the following:
C3 Bar: approx 320g
Zipp Service Course SL short shallow handlebar
Zipp's Service Course SL bars are up at the top end of what you'd expect to pay for an aluminium handlebar, but they're well made, light and comfy.
Mounting lights on o/s bars
Hey everyone,
I've got some lights from Revolution, but having difficultly mounting the front one. The bars have an oversize centre section (which is covered by the stem clamp), then tapers over the course of maybe two inches where it meets the bar tape.
I can't mount it on the taper because it won't sit securely, the bar tape is too thick for it to sit over that, and the clamp cannot be turned 90 degree, so it can't go on the stem.
Is it possible to buy an internally-tapered shim that will give the handlebar section a uniform thickness? Any other solution?
Cheers.
Ergo Bars
HELLO
As you can see from my WTD thread, I want some 3T Ergonovas for my new build.
I just have a quick question though, do all Ergo bars have that egg shaped top?
I really like that, and although I do want Ergonovas, there are other 'Ergo' bars for less money eg. Deda RHM02 with similar Drop and Reach, but I'd like to know whether they have the flat tops as well.
Cheers.
