Ground Effect

Ground Effect Tip Top jersey

Price:
£56.00

The Tip Top, from Kiwi kit company Ground Effect is great either as a base layer or a long sleeve jersey for cooler days.

I'll admit to being quite a fan of Ground Effect kit. It's well thought out, no-nonsense riding clothing that works well on the bike and blends in nicely when you're off it. It's certainly a little more restrained (and cheaper) than the YMX Winter Flower top that Leonie reviewed a while ago!

Ground Effect Road Rage jersey

Price:
£52.00

Ground Effect are a New Zealand company specialising primarily in MTB kit, but most of their stuff translates nicely to audaxing or touring and they have a bit of a cult following in the UK. None of it is flashy, it's not fancy or even fashionable, but it's ideal for leisure riders who don't fancy looking like a mobile bill-board or a badly stuffed sausage. If Ground Effect were a shop, they'd be Marks & Spencers, with all that implies about solid, reliable quality.

Ground Effect Witches Britches

Price:
£60.37

I’ve long been a fan of ¾ length cycling legwear. For starters it’s more flattering than most shorts, which have a tendency to exaggerate flaws in all but the trimmest of thighs. Most crucially though, they are wearable almost year round.

Ground Effect Popsicle jersey

Price:
£69.73

A long-sleeved merino based top with windproof properties, the Popsicle is designed as a Spring and Autumn jersey, keeping out the worst of the wind, while still having the breathability and temperature management properties of merino wool.
