Gropes Short Gropes

Price:
£25.00

Gropes are an unusual alternative to both flat bar grips and drop bar tape. The lace-up leather is certainly eyecatching, and chances are that'll be the reason you buy them. If high-performance is your primary concern, you should probably look elsewhere.

Crank Brothers Cobalt Foam Grips

Price:
£19.99

Crank Brothers Cobalt are a thin density lock-on design grips making the transition perfectly from XC trail blazer to road whippet, tourer to tagalong thanks to high quality materials uniting shock absorption and tenacious all weather grip without the chunky profiles. Death gripping the bars when screaming into winding descents wouldn't budge them but some smoother anodised/plated finishes proved trickier and the clamp bolts seemed unduly fragile

Commuter diaries - seen in the city

Here's something you don't see every day, a fixed gear bike with child seat. This was locked outside the Natural History Museum.... loving the baby pink Oury grips, very retro.

Lizard Skins Lock-On Charger Grip - Green

Price:
£18.00

Intended primarily for an MTB audience, these Charger grips well prove interesting to the latest generation of road fixers coming from a BMX background and they make worthy upgrades for other flat-bar road mounts. The grips themselves are soft polymer with rows of tactile ribbing and subtle logos mounted atop black anodised sleeves with laser-etched graphics.

Commuter Diaries - get a grip

I have just discovered Oury grips from the States, introduced to me by my fixie riding American "buddy". If you are riding flat bars, riser or are a singlespeed  / fixie rider, then these could be the grips for you!  They are better for those with larger hands as they are thick, so much so that it actually feels like a small amount of suspension at the end of the bar. They are very comfortable and come in a massive range of colours from baby blue to shocking pink. There is even a "day glo" set, I shall have to get some for summer dusky rides.
