Which GPS/HRM/Cadence Device
I have a Bryton 20 which is okay but I want something that is better & probably with maps. What do people here think about the following?
Garmin Edge 800 GPS Performance Bundle
Mio Cyclo 305HC With Heart Rate and Cadence (UK Maps)
Garmin Edge 500 Red with Premium Heart Rate and Cadence
Okay I know that the Edge 500 hasn't got maps!
Garmin 800 base maps - OK for road cycling?
What are riders experiences with using the base maps that come as standard with the Garmin 800? I'd be using it for mostly road cycling, but minor roads and tracks make up most of a day out where I am.
I can't find pictures of what the base maps look like - are there any OS map type features on them at all?
Thanks.
GPS a bit... optimistic.
I've had this Garmin GPS for a while and when going 30km/h (ish) the GPS tends to show values between 35-40km/h. The GPS also indicates movement when stationary. Could the device be faulty or is this kind of behaviour to be considered as normal.
Navigation Advice Sought :)
Hi Everyone,
Just looking for some advice and tips on navigating. I've only been cycling for a year now but am finding when i go on longer routes (therefore in unknown areas) i keep having to stop and look at a map/end up on a motorway!
Just wondered how others follow a route, find a route or make up a route as they go!
At present ive tried taking a map but memorising key roads/features; making concise notes and a)sticking to top tube b)writing up my arm!
Am considering a top tube case with a clear panel for my phone?
