Giro Ionos
Bontrager Oracle Helmet
Although a touch weightier than much of the competition, Bontrager's new high-end Oracle helmet - the one being used by the Leopard Trek pro team this year - is among the most comfortable I've ever used.
Giro Prolight helmet
The new Prolight from Giro is, they claim, the lightest helmet that has ever been produced. At 175g, but does light weight mean a better helmet?
The Prolight which will be available in the UK this month had its premier pro outing on the mountain slopes of stage 7 of the 2009 Tour de France from Barcelona to Andorra Arcalis. Everything about this helmet is new except for the name.
Giro Ionos (Garmin-Slipstream limited edition)
The new Ionos is a range topping helmet aimed at experienced, high level road cyclists. The limited edition Ionos lid in Garmin Slipstream team livery tops out the Ionos range (there's also a limited edition lid in Astana colours) there is now no difference on the suggested retail price between it and the standard model which is also £159.99.
