Genesis

Genesis is a British bike brand that's part of the Madison Cycles group which also includes the Ridgeback and Saracen brands. Genesis has long been a flag-bearer for the use of high-quality steel tubing in bike frames, with the majority of its models made from one of the many varieties of Reynolds steel.

Notable Genesis models include the very popular cyclo-cross/commuter Croix de Fer, used in 2010 by Vin Cox to set a record for riding round the world, and the Equilibrium distance/touring bikes designed for mile-munching riders.

Since the 2013 season Genesis has supplied bikes for the Madison-Genesis racing team, run by cyclesport legend Roger Hammond. The team's Volare Team 953 bikes were the only steel frames in the professional peloton, demonstrating that the material was still competitive.

In August last year, Genesis announced its first carbon fibre frame, the Zero, intended to fulfil the performance demands of racing cyclists.
