Fondriest's TF2 1.5 is a smart-handling, race-ready frame that's an excellent basis for a racing or fast sportive setup. Given the prices of the stock builds, and the crazy deals you can get on full groupsets at the moment, it's likely to appeal to riders looking for a self-build option.
If you're looking for a quality road bike then Fondriest's new TF2 1.5 is one that's vying for your attention. Available as a frameset at £2,299 (frame, fork, headset and seatpost) or in builds from £2,799 upwards, the TF2 1.5 is a semi-aero platform designed to go fast. We're testing the second-lowest build spec: Shimano 105, Fulcrum Racing Quattro wheels and alloy cockpit for £3,099.
Disc brakes are sweeping through the road cycling industry and the latest to offer a disc-equipped road bike is Fondriest, the Italian brand revealing the new TFDisc for 2015. The framesets costs £2,199 and the complete Ultegra mechanical and hydraulic disc model as pictured is £4,399.

The carbon fibre TF4 is a brand new addition to the Fondriest range, our model coming in a largely Shimano 105 build at £1,900.
If you’re not familiar with Fondriest, it’s an Italian brand founded by Maurizio Fondriest, a former pro racer who won the World Champs, the UCI Road World Cup, Milan-San Remo, La Flèche Wallonne, a Giro stage… a whole lot of top-level events. You might even have seen him win the Tour of Britain way back in 1994.
It has been a big week for spotting new and improved bikes and here are some of the highlights that we saw at The Bike Place dealer show at Silverstone…
Italy’s Fondriest have a new performance bike in the TF4. The frame is made from 24 ton Toray carbon fibre – even the dropouts are carbon – and Fondriest claim a weight of 990g for the medium model. You can consider anything under the kilo mark pretty damn light. The wavy Reflex fork that fits into the tapered head tube is 395g, according to Fondriest.
Bike Place is the UK’s newest trade-only show, this was its third year, and fittingly enough it takes place inside the new Wing complex at the Silverstone motor racing circuit. It may be a young show, but it does attract some very interesting brands from the the more boutique and high end of the road and mountain bike market. Here’s our selection of the best road bits from the show.
