Cyclo cross tyre
Bontrager Jones CXR 700x34 Cyclo-Cross Tyre
Before Keith Bontrager was assimilated by the Trek Corporation and his name appeared on their whole gamut of finishing kit he was a renowned mountain bike frame builder and his off-road heritage is visible in these Jones CXR cyclo-cross tyres that look like a small mountain bike tyre, or one that's far away.
Wheel very close to right side chain stay
On my Cube LTD Comp when switching between slicks and nobbys, I have noticed that the nobby rear tyre is virtually rubbing against the right side chain stay, ie the one on the other side of the derailleur. The wheel itself isnt buckled or bent in any way, and I can only think that it was built like this.
When I am cycling uphill, being a rather large bloke, the bike sways from side to side, and I can hear the tyre rubbing on the right chain stay.
What can I do to fix this problem?
Panaracer Crossblaster folding tyre
The Crossblaster is Panracer’s race specific tyre, designed more towards performance than durability and puncture resistance. The feathery 280g weight is very competitive for a cross clincher whilst offering a good mud shedding, block design tread, good for UK conditions.
Panaracer Cindercross folding tyre
The Panaracer Cinder Cross is a very versatile all-round tyre for hitting the trails on 700c wheels. Sturdy and grippy enough to deal with technical terrain and slippery roots, it's still light enough to race on.
Kenda Small Block 8 700x32c tyre
Kenda’s Small Block 8 700x32 are a sprightly and durable tyre representing good value for riders of cross bikes and higher end hybrids liking a blend of asphalt and loose, dry singletrack. However, trade-off in terms of mud churning prowess prevents me recommending them as outright competition rubber for mid winter cross meets but this aside, they’re nigh on perfect for three season’s fun.
