Finally back on the bike

1 chipped neck, 1 broken back, 1 broken shoulder, 1 broken elbow, 3 cracked ribs, 21/2 months off work, 8 nights in hospital, 20 trips to physio and only a bent spoke on my bike.

All is forgotten after my first ride yesterday, sunshine and spring! Bring it on.

PS - Never try and removing a wallet from a bag whilst cycling!

Victory FAIL

hur hur hur

Kerbed my enthusiasm?

It was only 2 months ago that my flat mate wrote off his bike and spent the proceeding 6 weeks in a sling after hitting the central reservation at speed.

Ok, we were going rather fast through traffic and it was dark but none the less his cherished steed had to be put to pasture after this event having sustained; a demolished front wheel, twisted forks, bent bars and a severely creased frame - oh yeah, he ripped the ligaments in his shoulder.

Altercation

Both knees - skin missing.
Right elbow - compact hole.
Tights - hole.
Shorts - hole.
Undervest - hole.
Handlebar Tape - holed and scuffed.
Saddle - scuffed.

As a cyclist, no matter how right you are, and no matter how any motorists get out their car to tell him he was driving like a twat, you sometimes come off worse, although kicking dents in the door is small recompense.

Where's the scrubbing-brush?
