Folding Helmet from Biologic/Dahon - Spotted

While dragging the parents around the south island this week, I noticed a French Canadian guy folding up his bike helmet and putting it into his backpack. I remembered that ages ago Dahon had advertised their "Pango" so I said hello and had a look. Labelled "Biologic", it was indeed the Dahon folding helmet and very impressive it was too. If anyone's interested it's available from the Biologic site for about $130 and looked really sturdy. Great for commuting I'd imagine.

Alfine Commuter

I'm looking at getting a bike to commute the 15 miles to work on. Like the idea of the low maintenance of an alfine setup.

anyone had experience of alfine 8 or 11? what's it like with mildly hilly rides?

Commuter diaries - spd sandals

I have been wearing Shimano (other brands are available) spd sandals for commuting.

Wrong yet strangely right?

Commuter diaries - 1st ride of 2011

1st ride of 2011 this morning (due to illness) and I love it, back in the saddle weaving past cars, thinking yes! I am going to ride my SS or fixed around the hills of Avon to get fit again! Lovely... Happy Riding!

Commuter diaries - ring road path

Last night I rode part of the Bristol ring road cycle path expecting it to be nothing more than a series of sections through housing estates and parallel to major roads continually cut by traffic lights and bollards... to be fair, there was quite a lot of that, but I have to say, I really enjoyed the ride and the variety it offered. Perhaps it was because I was cycling to a specific destination, or the fact I had my SS bike, thrashing through different areas or perhaps it was the variety of sights, street art and people I saw, I just can't put my finger on it!
