Colnago

Ok, I've got a nice Colnago CT1 B-Stay with mainly Chorus 10spd throughout (Record brakes and front mech) & Eurosport wheels. It's 9years or so old now and although I like the bike greatly, I cannot help but wonder what a more modern frame might be like in comparison. I. E. How much have frames moved on?

I currently ride a Charge Filter Mid 2011, which is effectively a cross bike. I have come to realise that the groupset is pretty poor (Shimano 2300) and also fancy another bike for "nice weather" so that I can keep the Charge as my winter/training bike.

What do you think of these? It’d be used for club runs/sportives.

I have a Dancelli framed show-pony (c. 1985) and I've heard many internet sources say that these frames were made by both Colnago and Merckx. Lots of the details of my bike match details of period Colnago frames but I'd love to find any definitive source as to who made this frame. Any ideas as to books/sites/etc... that might help me find the answer much appreciated.
