Smart Enve System wheels available next month

The Smart Enve System wheels devised by British aerodnamics guru Simon Smart will be widely available in the UK via Felt bike distributor Saddleback from next month.

Enve (pronounced (‘envy’) used to be called Edge Composites but a trademark issue has led to the US brand changing its name. Saddleback will be supplying the rims separately – we snapped the ones above when we first saw them at the Bespoked show – and also built up with Chris King R45 hubs.

Rapha launches Bicycle collection

Through its various range extensions and collaborations, Rapha has a knack of surprising the cycling world now and again, and it’s done so once more with the launch of a four-strong range of bicycles, the Rapha Collection, to be made available over the next two years, produced in partnership with, as Rapha says, “four masters of framebuilding.”

Cycle Show 2010: bits and bobs roundup from Topeak, 3T, Rolf Prima, Carradice, Fizik and more

After Thursday's rush round with the camera to shoot the shiniest things we could find, we dug a little deeper and actually asked some of the chaps on the stands to show us their wares. There's always lots to see at the Cycle Show and some of the good stuff is either hidden away or just very small and hard to spot. Anyway, here's some of the bits that we particularly liked

Chris King R45 hubs

Price:
£490.00

These hubs – £140 (fr), £350 (rear) – are lovely. Sorry to get all technical on you so early – it’s an engineering term meaning they’re superbly designed and work marvelously.

Chances are you’ve heard of Chris King headsets and you know that they have a reputation for lasting forever. And they do. They’re precision-made and require very little attention to stay running as smooth as you like, and these new R45 lightweight hubs are similar.
