Italian cycle clothing company Sportful have expanded their Fiandre range of autumn and winter clothing this year with new jackets and thermal bib shorts. Fiandre is Italian for Flanders and the clothing has been designed to deal with the typically harsh and unpredictable weather across this region of Belgium, and which, in many ways, is very similar to UK riding conditions.
Rapha have now launched their autumn/winter training and racing clothing, adding to the range updates we told you about earlier in the week.
Rapha have added more colour options this time around. Whereas at one time pretty much everything from Rapha was black or pink with the odd splash of something else thrown in, they’ve cut loose with a whole bunch of different choices available now.
Autumn is a great time of year for cycling. Yes the temperatures are dropping, there's more rain and wind in the weather forecasts, but there are still the days, all crisp, blue sky and radiant sun, that are ample reward for being out on the bike.
Vulpine have launched a new and expanded range of Epic cotton clothing, with two jackets, trousers and shorts. They first utilised Epic cotton in their Cotton Rain Jacket in 2012, and it’s clear they’ve fallen for the qualities of the fabric for cycle clothing.
As a cyclist in this part of the world keeping tabs on the weather is an almost daily ritual. It's no wonder the most visited website on my computer is the BBC's weather channel. Such is the impact of the weather on us cyclists that no decision on clothing can be undertaken without first seeing if the BBC are using yellow sunshine or grey cloud with rain drop icons (and how many) to illustrate the forecast.
