HELP! Wheel building advice needed

Hello,

I have recently had to replace my rear hub, and having now put everything back together and on the bike, it doesn't feel right. There is much to much friction, as if the brake is always on whenever I am peddling.

Is this normal? Do the bearings just need time to bed in and adjust themselves to run smoothly or is there something wrong with the wheel... Having never rebuilt a entire wheel before I have nothing to compare it to, and the old hub was so old it just ran and ran forever.

Any help is much appreciated,

C

Im about to buy a cheap turbo....

Im about to purchase a nice cheap turbo. I cant afford Tacx or any other brand but am keen on the B'win in ride. Especially as the brand seems to be getting a good rep.

Does anyone have any experiance of this or any other unbranded turbos? Amazon for instance seems to have a few for around £60 which im tempted but unsure!

Navigation Advice Sought :)

Hi Everyone,

Just looking for some advice and tips on navigating. I've only been cycling for a year now but am finding when i go on longer routes (therefore in unknown areas) i keep having to stop and look at a map/end up on a motorway!

Just wondered how others follow a route, find a route or make up a route as they go!

At present ive tried taking a map but memorising key roads/features; making concise notes and a)sticking to top tube b)writing up my arm!

Am considering a top tube case with a clear panel for my phone?

Help!! Buying a New Bike

Hi

I am undertaking the classic John O'Groats to Lands End ride. or JOGLE and I am going to buy a new bike as I currently ride a hybrid which just isn't cut out for the task.

Basically has anyone got any suggestions on what to get?

I have £800 to spend and ideally want a road bike including any SPDs that I need to get and the pedals.

Reflectors for clipless pedals

Does anyone know where I can get a set of reflectors for my Ultegra PD-6700-C carbon pedals? Just bought a Merida Scultura Comp 905e-Di2 and want to stay legal now the nights are closing in without the faff of swapping to standard pedals. Done a lot of searching on the web and can't find anything. Not even on eBay. The only place that seems to mention them is the Shimano website.

Food for Thought

Hi,

I'm helping a friend of mine out - Dr Garry Palmer from Sportstest. He is giving a seminar next week (Thur 1 March) on "optimal nutrition for endurance athletes" (see: http://www.sportstest.co.uk/Successful_Seminars.htm ) and needs a few more attendees to make it worthwhile.

Not sure if anyone has seen this but just wanted to draw your attention to it.

Also, Garry develops training programmes, so if this is something you are after you should check him out.

Cheers
Craig

Route Help - Northern Kent / Sussex

Hi, hope someone can give me a bit of advice. Dragging my friend out for a swift 30 miles somewhere in the Westerham area on the weekend. It's neither of our regular stamping grounds but we require a circular route with either a pub at about the 20 mile mark or at the end for a rather nice lunch. Preferably quiet routes so we can tootle along and discuss marital break ups and her rubbish husband (She bought him a Cannondale which he never uses but there are other more significant crimes).

women for women cycle china 2010

I have registered to do the Women for Women Cycle China in Sept 2010, and would really love some advice/help on the best way to train for it. I will be cycling a total of 450km over 5 days...... I have started to train but I also have a bit of weight to loose as well so fighting two battles and once.

If anyone can give me any advice on training etc then I would be really greatful
