Abus
Abus Lyria Silene bag
The Silene bar bag from Abus is a bit different from the norm, turning away from the common box type shape of many bar bags, where the lid can often be used for maps, towards a more ‘handbag’ like shape, complete with compartments, padding and even a shoulder strap. It’s the kind of bar bag that could be used on day rides just as happily as long tours requiring maps and GPS, and wouldn’t look out of place slung over your shoulder at the supermarket.
Abus Tresor 1385 combination chain
There's plenty to be said in favour of a combination lock: you don't need to carry a key and it's a neat solution for popping into town. It still has a job to do though, that of keeping your bike safe from nefarious types, and that's where the Abus Tresor falls down: it simply isn't strong enough.
Abus Buffo 34 U-lock
At a whisker under £25 the Buffo isn't the most expensive U lock out there and in this case it's very much a case of you get what you pay for: resistance to attack is decent rather than exceptional and it's an acceptable deterrent for your town hack, but I can't help thinking you'd be better off throwing an extra few quid at your bike's security.
