Trek are one of the biggest bicycle manufacturers in the world. Based in Winsconsin, USA, they started producing bicycles in 1976. They were at the forefront of carbon fibre development in the 1990s with their OCLV (Optimum Compaction, Low Void) frames.

Trek have been involved in the professional peloton for many years. In 2003 they launched the Madone road bike which was their professional team bike for a decade before the introduction of the lightweight Émonda in 2014. Trek also developed the Domane bike in consultation with Trek Factory Racing team rider Fabian Cancellara. The Domane uses an IsoSpeed decoupler to combat road shocks and is widely used in one-day classics, especially over the cobbles.
