Bath and Chew Valley bike ride
A lovely early autumn ride around the Chew Valley starting and finishing in the heart of historic Bath to raise money for Bath Cats and Dogs Home. From Bath, all routes follow the old Bristol to Bath railway line to Saltford with the family route returning to Bath after a spot of lunch. The 33 and 50 mile routes wind down towards Chew Valley through pretty Somerset villages before both routes head north alongside Chew Valley Lake. The route then splits, with the 33 mile route returning east to Saltford via Chew Magna and Whitchurch. Meanwhile the 50 mile route continues west circling the equally beautiful Blagdon Lake before the return east via Chew Valley Lake, Chew Magna and Saltford. The ride finishes as it began in the relaxing greenery of Royal Victoria Park.

Sounds cool. I haven't taken an "unnecessary flight" since 1992. Flown many times since then for work, but you can't patrol the Iraqi desert, or...
My first thought on reading the headline was "ooh, has Clevedon put in covered bike parking now?".
I rented a car a few weeks ago, a Skoda Octavia (needed a big car for a weekend), and the ride was astonishingly good compared to my own 10 year...
Silly.
