Friday Schwag Grab: Signed Coppi book and Prendas calendar - we have winners!
Also on road.cc |
It's tiffin time here at road.cc towers (well, fairtrade chocolate shortbread time) so the random number generator has been duly fired up to distribute books and calendars to the masses. Said machine must have been in a particularly benign mood this afternoon, choosing as it has to bestow the prizes upon two road.cc stalwarts: long time member (and sometime blogger) Blackhound and similarly upstanding heavyweight jimmythecuckoo. It's not a fix, honest - we really do pick at random using a real random number generator and everything...
If you're cursing the fact that you missed out this week and there's a calendar-shaped hole on the side of your fridge, you might want to check out next week's Schwag Grab for another crack at the Prendas Ciclismo calendar... stay tuned!
---------------------------------------------
As you may well have seen on road.cc this week marked the 50th anniversary of the death of cycling legend Fausto Coppi. To mark that we've got a very special Schwag grab: two signed copies of William Fotheringham's acclaimed biography of il campionissimo, Fallen Angel: the passion of Fausto Coppi, a book already acknowledged as probably the definitive english language account of the life of Italy's greatest bike racer.
And there's more. Not only will our two lucky schwag winners get a signed book, the classic racing theme continues with a copy of the Prendas Ciclismo Memoires du Peloton calendar, which contains a selection of iconic images from the last 40 years of professional road racing. If you haven't got a 2010 calendar then it's the perfect schwag. If you have got a 2010 calendar you can throw it away if you win, because this one is better.
Usual rules apply: simply comment on this story and you're in the hat. No multiple entries please. We'll draw the lucky two at tiffin time next Friday, although in these new-year's-resolution-affected days of January, tiffin might well be a bowl of muesli or a banana or somesuch. Pft.

Don't include me!
I have both, just wanted to recommend them to anyone thinking of entering, fantastic pics in the calendar, and a terrific book.

Please include me in as well.
Just been reading some of the internet entries on Coppi.
The biography looks really impresive and you can never have too many calendars.

Bought the book (signed) at Epic Cycles over in Shropshire, and then gave it to cousin for Christmas. I'd love to own my own copy or two! Calendar would look nice next to the desk with no window...
