The Vitus Substance V2 Apex is another addition to the ever growing line of reasonably priced adventure bikes, proposing to take you on both epic expeditions and to work and back in comfort.
The Vitus team has been busy recently, also releasing the new ZX1 road bike for 2018 that we told you about earlier in the week.

The Vitus Substance is built around a steel frame and prices start at £699.99 although the Substance V2 Apex we have in for review is £1,299.99

Use a bearing retaining compound such as Loctite 609 on press fit cups and they won't creak.
Was interested till I read the words press-fit. Massive let down.
Genuine answers please. Am hankering for a reasonably priced reason to bin the hybrid/winter commuter. Ideal world is The two and half grand yellow Canyon beauty or a Mason Bokke (which I’ve ridden), but this seems a bargain. Any objections?
1 x systems are just fugly.
A big part of bicycle's beauty is its simplicity and 1x enhance this, so I really like them in terms of appearance. Sram though hasn't convinced me yet how exactly they have eliminated crosschaining and my knees like the 3x range so not a dream yet.
I too agree that a threadless probably creaky BB doesn't suit to a bicycle named after "substance"
They claim it allows folk to fit an eccentric BB to allow single speed conversion. Ruins a potential great value machine for me.
