It’s taken us a while to get our hands on it, but finally here is the new Cervélo S3 Disc. Watch the video above to see Jack talk through all the salient details of the aero disc-equipped road bike.
The Cervélo S3 Disc, the little brother to the S5, joins the growing number of aero road bikes equipped with disc brakes and we’ll be comparing it to the Specialized Venge ViAS Disc and Canyon Aeroad CF SLX Disc Aeroad CF SLX Disc that have both been reviewed previously on road.cc.
The Canadian company says the Cervélo S3 Disc, redesigned over the predecessor, has a frame that is 9% stiffer, 40g lighter and more aero to the tune of a 2-watt saving. The frame and fork feature fully internal cable and brake hose routing and 12mm thru-axles at both ends, and there’s space for up to 25mm tyres.

The bike we have here isn’t cheap, with a specification that bumps the price up to £6,199. The equipment list does though include a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset with hydraulic disc brakes, an FSA SLK carbon fibre chainset and stunning Enve SES 3.4 wheels.
It’s also sporting the company’s own aero handlebar which unlike many of the integrated handlebars available, fits a regular FSA SL-K stem. That means you can easily change the fit and reach of the bike.
If that’s too rich for your tastes, you can swap the Di2 for mechanical Ultegra and the wheels for HED Ardennes Plus GP Discs and the price drops to £4,249.
Stay tuned for the full review soon, and don't forget to check out our YouTube channel for more new bikes unboxed.
