Nalini Corniola bib shorts

The best feature of these shorts is the seat pad. It’s synthetic but feels very similar to chamois leather and you can even apply chamois cream if you like old-school lubrication.

It comes with hundreds of little perforations which add ventilation, it’s stretchy enough to fit closely and, despite being just a uniform density, provides enough padding for long-ride comfort without being noticeably bulky. A Coolmax surround is equally good at moisture management.

Lightweight Lycra makes these shorts particularly suited to warmer weather and the mesh bib section holds them in place well without raising the temperature. The seams aren’t flat-stitched but none of them bothered us while the elasticated leg grippers worked just fine without being irritating.

Available in sizes S-2XL and in black and black/red designs too.

What the road.cc scores mean

Here's how we roll at road.cc: every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a real insight into whether it works or not. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The score reflects a product's function and value. Good scores are more common than bad, because fortunately good products are more common than bad. Here's what they mean:

5 stars Perfect
4.5 stars Exceptional
4 stars Very good
3.5 stars Good
3 stars Quite good
2.5 stars Okay
2 stars Not so good
1.5 stars Poor
1 stars Bad
0.5 stars Appalling
