At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

If you have a SealLine Urban Backpack, then this Organizer does what it says on the tin, but it's a bit pricy for what it is. Why not include it with the packs?

The best thing about this SealLine Urban Backpack Organizer is the way it fits into the SealLine Urban backpack (either Small or Large). You detach the internal stiffer from the backpack, slide the Organizer over the top of the stiffener, then refit the stiffener to the bag. It's simple, secure, and tool-, zip- and stud-free. So it shouldn't break any time soon.

The Organizer fits only into SealLine Urban Backpacks. It's roughly 25cm square and made of nylon. There are some pen pockets, a zipped mesh pocket, and two open pockets, one small, one large. There's also a keyring on a lanyard, long enough to reach out of the bag, so you can carry small items without having them rattling around loose at the bottom of the bag.

Whether this will be useful to you depends on how you use backpacks. I use them exclusively for short trips, so my keys, phone and wallet are in the pockets of my jeans. If you ride in clothing without pockets (lycra? a skirt?), I guess you might appreciate the Organizer.

It's a shame that the Organizer is not included with the Urban Backpack, especially the £99.99 large version. I'd balk at spending another £13 on this, and would just chuck a couple of jiffy bags into an unOrganized backpack if I needed to divide the load. But it does do its job well enough.

Verdict

A somewhat expensive way to stop small items getting lost in your SealLine backpack.
