At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

Wear your support for Wiggins on your socks with this bright yellow Prendas Ciclismo Yellow Mod Cotton socks.

Following the massive success of Bradley Wiggins last summer, where he not only became the first Briton to win the coveted Tour de France, but also the a gold medal in the Olympic time trial, Dorset-based clothing company Prendas were on the ball with a range of socks and caps to pay homage to the Mod loving cyclist.

These 'The In Crowd' socks existed in their range before but in plain old white; the winning of the yellow jersey by Brad was just the excuse Prendas needed to release a special limited edition version. In yellow. And very yellow they are, and with the RAF roundel and Prendas logo aren't socks for the shy and retiring cyclist - these will attract comments.

They're based on the company's proven Coolmax socks, which offer a lightweight fabric that is soft to the skin and very comfortable. They're also very breathable and ideal for warmer days where they will keep your feet from overheating. They're an extremely good fit with enough stretch in the material to mean they're not at all restrictive, especially around the toes.

A suggested working temperature range of 6 to 22°C means they're not much cop now in the winter, but save them for spring and when it's warm enough for the first ride with shorts and jersey, these socks will be the ideal accompaniment for any self-confessed Wiggins fan.
