At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

BBB's Select Team glasses fitted my face very nicely, staying firmly in place no matter how sweaty I got. And with a choice of three lenses they're set up for everything from bright sunny days to darker days.

For the price, they're very good. Vision through the lenses is excellent, with the clarity of lenses costing twice as much. The field of vision is impaired slightly by large BBB logos printed on the edge of the lens, but after a while you don't notice they're there.

The lightweight Grilamid plastic has a good degree of flex to allow them to fit different head sizes. The hinges have a nice smooth action and the rubber nose piece is adjustable. They have an almost vice like grip on your head so won't be sliding down your nose during a ride.

A 9-layer coating gives the MLC blue tinted polycarbonate lens (pictured) great contrast in a range of lighting conditions. I found them good in everything from bright sunny days to overcast cloudy days. A high contrast yellow for very low light and smoked clear lenses (for when it's taken you half an hour to decide which lens to wear) are supplied in the hard carrying case.

Lenses are relatively easily swapped, though doing so does require a fair degree of force.

The Select Team glasses are also available in a choice of six frame colours and range of lens tints so you can choose the ones that suit you best.

Verdict

Great style, design and impressive value for money.
