At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

OneTen is the new kid on the cycle clothing block from UK distributor Hotlines, one of the biggest cycle gear distributors in the UK. Among their range of 10 road oriented items are these rather swanky looking arm warmers.

The OneTen arm warmers are manufactured using a circular knitting process which results in a one piece, seamless construction. In addition, the weave style is varied in key areas such as the elbow region to provide a more 'fitted' shape and one tailored to the cycling position. A mix of micro-denier polypropelene and polyamide gives these arm-warmers a pleasantly soft and stretchy feel.

I was initially quite sceptical about the one size fits all concept given that my long and skinny arms don't play nicely with a lot of arm warmers out there. The feeling of an arm warmer creeping ever southwards, just minutes into a ride, is something I've come to dread. However, the fabric and construction of this offering combine to create an arm warmer that seems to mould itself to whatever shape your arms may be. I was able to stretch them right over my shoulder joint and they would just stay there even when riding in the drops. Furthermore, the lack of seams or any pesky labels makes these some of the most comfortable arm warmers I've yet to wear.

If there's a down side to this, it's that they aren't the warmest arm warmers around. Given the relatively open weave, I found that they were best suited to variable summer days when temperatures never really dipped below 15C. In warmer temps, they seemed to dissipate heat well and I rarely felt the need to pull them down.

At £30, these arm warmers are positioned at the high end of the market where they are competing against some well established and prestigious brands. Nevertheless, they are a quality product and worth a punt if you've struggled with saggy arm warmers in the past. Thankfully, the OneTen arm warmers are available in black as well as the white colour tested which, whilst it may look pro on the first ride, soon becomes a chore to keep clean.

Verdict

A well fitted and comfortable arm warmer for warmer days

For those with skinny arms, the Oneten arm warmers work really well and are extremely comfortable to boot. They aren't the warmest though which sort of limits when they can be worn

£30 is a lot to spend on arm warmers if your one of those people that don't use them during the majority of the UK year and it's still a lot of you're one of those that wear their arm warmers all the time. On the other hand if you do wear your arm warmers a lot their comfort and lightness should make them a more cost-effective purchase.
