Bike cleaning is easier with the right equipment, such as Muc-Off's 3x Bicycle Brush Set. Brush one is a big fluffy one for the frame. Brush two is a smaller and stiffer one for components. Brush three has narrow strips of bristles and plastic teeth for the drivetrain. If you're regularly cleaning bikes, it's a useful collection that could even save you time: 'If you have your brush, you can avoid the rush,' as The Beat sang, although possibly not about bike care...
Both the big fluffy wash brush and the triangular detailer (brushes one and two) have dual density, ergonomic non-slip handles and rubberised 'impact zones'. In plain English that means you won't drop them or chip frame paint during hasty clean ups.
Brush one is for the major components: frame, fork, rims, suspension swing-arms, etc. Armed with this and two buckets - one containing warm water and car shampoo, the other plain for rinsing - I had two grime-encrusted mountain bikes washed and rinsed clean in 20 minutes.
Brush two is stiffer and is intended for tyres, brakes, mechs, the underside of the saddle, and so forth. Its triangular shape is just right for reaching between the saddle rails, and it is effective at scrubbing dirt and grime off everything from tyres to bar tape.
Brush three has serrated nylon teeth at one end for raking out leaves, straw and congealed lube from the cassette, and a selection of thin brushes on the other for cleaning up the more intricate regions of a bike's drivetrain. The claw works well, removing filth from 8-, 9- and 10-speed cassettes, while the assorted brushes keep derailleurs and pivot points clean.
By and large, all three brushes are well designed and make short work of a mucky bike. However, you need to keep the bristles clean (with turpentine or similar solvents) to prevent cross contamination from drivetrain gunge. My test samples have shed some bristles in use, and of course you could put together a set of cleaning brushes from hardware store bargain bins that would do much the same job for less money.
Verdict
Good quality, nice to use brushes that do all the essential bike cleaning jobs

The trio of brushes certainly make short work of post race clean-ups. However, purging the transmission brush of congealed grime was a tedious, time-consuming task.
