At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

I do like a nice sock. There's nothing worse than spending a ride with seams chafing or a loose heel riding up. There's no danger of that with these Bike Race socks from Craft, Swedish masters of technical sportswear.

There are no seams and they fit snugly. Not only that, they also boast the Craft Climate Control System. It's not quite air conditioning for feet but Craft claim that these socks will either keep your feet warm when it's cold or cool when the going gets sweaty. More like a thermos flask, perhaps? I'm always faintly amused by the Science Burble that companies attach to products, although as these are a comfy and pleasant pair of socks, I'm not going to argue.

Styling is very plain. I'm not enough of an Essex boy to properly appreciate the white sock look (Goth black is more my style) but as sports socks go, these are pretty good.

Sizes are S to XL.

Verdict

Tell us what the product is for, and who it's aimed at. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does that compare to your own feelings about it?

Blurb says:- "The Craft Bike Race Sock is simply a highly comfortable and well fitting bike sock that is perfect for either training or race day. Whether you are of the opinion that white is the only choice for racing, or indeed that Lance Armstrong black is the only colour to be seen in, your feet will be happy for many a long mile / kilometre."

I say: - So Lance owns black now?
