Extreme Air Jumper 1
Xtreme's Air Jumper track pump is a well built budget offering that's easy to use and sturdy enough to stick around for a while. It's not quite as rounded as some of the more expensive offerings, but for less than £25, who cares?
The pump is mostly steel in construction, with a solid barrel and pressed steel foot that's hardy enough. The gauge is a good size and accurate when compared to our digital pressure meter, and the hose is nice and long with a smart head that'll adapt to Presta or Schraeder valves with no tinkering.
Our pump took a middle-of-the-road 23 strokes to pump up a 700c tyre to 100psi, and it was no effort at all with the whole unit feeling well put together. Xtreme claim it'll push 160psi; we went up to 120 with no problems and the pump could certainly go higher.
The eagle-eyed among you will probably notice that this pump looks remarkably like other budget track pumps from different manufacturers, most notably Halfords who have one in their Bikehut range. It's basically the same pump, so far as we can tell, though you'll save yourself about a quid and a journey to the aforementioned motoring store by getting it online from Germany.
Verdict
A good pump for not much money. Unless you're heavy on your workshop tools, it'll give you years of service.
