At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

The Diamante is a good quality, comfortable road helmet for ladies. Whether the fact that they're 'created for the well being of dynamic women' means that the helmet is actually a different shape, rather than just pink, is not something that Met divulge in their literature, but our tester certainly found it comfortable. The adjustment system is fairly basic but works just fine, and overall it's a well rounded mid-price lid. Helmets are a personal thing – both in terms of whether a particular one fits, and whether you need one at all – so the advice as always is to try before you buy, if you can.

The report

Tell us what the bike is for, and who it's aimed at. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does that compare to your own

A women's helmet, made for general cycling (commuting, road riding). It's aimed at the general public, not high-end.

Tell us some more about the techincal aspects of the product?

It has a strap at the back which allows you to tighten the helmet once it's on, making it fit any size of head. This is an excellent feature and one that works really well. the only problem is that it isn't that easy to tighten and loosen, unlike other helmets that have a dial that you turn.

any further comments on construction?

It's a bit bulky and the colours aren't that nice as they make the helmet very noticeable when a helmet should be understated (in my opinion).

It works well; a bog-standard helmet, nothing particularly special about it but it is comfy to use and does the job well. again, the feature of tightening at the back is very good.

It is an average weight for a helmet; not too heavy and not too light. I'd say just right.

Tell us how the product performed overall when used for its designed purpose

I found it to work extremely well and was very pleased. Compared to my normal helmet, it was a bit bulkier and the tighten/loosen feature wasn't as user-friendly, but it's fairly good for a mid-range lid

I liked its lightweight, easy to use and comfortable fit.
