At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

The Pedros Super Prestige is a solid pump. The main body is made from sturdy alloy while the handle is oak. The result is a reassuringly tough feeling pump.

In use, it inflates tyres quickly and effectively, with a smooth and efficient action. For quick top ups you’re only looking at a few strokes. From flat to 100psi takes around 20 strokes for a 23mm tyre – quite respectable. It offers side by side connectors for Schrader or Presta valves, so there’s no fuss whichever you run, and the pressure gauge is clear and easy to read. Maximum inflation pressure is to 160psi. The oak handle is pleasant and easy to grip, and the whole thing is surprisingly stable given that the foot platform is quite small for the length of the (60cm) barrel. The hose clips neatly out of the way when not in use, and the pump stands happily on its own without falling over in your workshop.

This is a pump that’ll last you a good few years, and happily sort your home workshop needs, such is the quality of build and ease of use. It’s not the cheapest, but nor is it hugely expensive and you’re getting a quality product for your money.

Verdict

A solid, reliable and well built pump. Pleasant to use and effective. And it looks nice!
