If you're always getting into trouble for leaning your bike against the paintwork, or your beloved steeds are getting scratched from having to share a corner, then maybe you should invest in a storage rack? Revolution's Floor to Ceiling Bike Stand clamps between the floor and the ceiling, just like it promises, and holds two bikes in multi-storey configuration, tidying up your room and freeing up a bit of space into the bargain.
Fitting the thing couldn't be simpler: just extend the pole from floor to ceiling (anything between 190cm and 330cm), tighten the quick release in the middle and torque it up using the extending foot. Obviously if you've got a low rent plasterboard ceiling you don't want to apply too much pressure to an unsupported part, so try to marry the stand up with a joist. It doesn't need to be massively tight anyway, as there's very little sideways load on the pole. The main pole is an extruded Aluminium section and the fittings are a mixture of steel and resin, not top dollar but well up to the job and fine for the money.
The two bike cradles can be adjusted for height and also angle, so if you have a super compact frame you can still store your bike level. Everything does up with an allen key and it's job done: fitting takes five minutes and ours has behaved perfectly ever since, save for a quick bolt retightening.
It's not for every situation – you probably wouldn't want one in the garage unless you also fitted a high wall anchor to lock the top bike to – but in your house, or an office it's a great way to add a bit of bike storage simply and reasonably cheaply, and it's easily sturdy enough for the job.
Simple storage solution for your home or office. Easy to fit, easy to use.
