At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

Muc-off's visor, lens and goggle cleaning kit does just as it says. It gives you all the tools you need to keep your eyewear clean. 'Seeing is believing' as the marketing blurb says.

You wouldn't necessarily think to reach for your glasses with the darkness book-ending the day, but with winter grit around you still need to protect your eyes.

For a tenner you get a microfibre cloth and a 35ml spray bottle complete with a little carry bag. The microfibre cloth is a decent size and would easily cope with a visor or goggles, so a set of glasses is no bother. The soft cloth doesn't harm your lenses.

The spray bottle contains 35ml of a pH balanced cleaning formula. The spray is 100% biodegradable and also free from solvents and any other harmful chemicals. Its antibacterial properties are capable of killing 99.9% of germs which means it will cope with anything thrown up from the roads or pretty much anywhere else.

A quick spray and a wipe with the cloth is generally all it takes to get your lenses clean. For more stubborn marks a bit more force may be required but I've yet to encounter a mark that cannot be removed.

To complete the composition of the spray, it is formulated using de-ionised water, recommended by many helmet manufacturers and is safe to use on all lens materials.

This is a compact cleaning kit that will give you clear vision for many, many rides. Ideal.

Verdict

The perfect compact cleaning kit to ensure nothing fogs up your view of the road ahead. You'll have no excuses at the outset for not spotting anything ahead. Spray, wipe and go. Job done.

Was hoping it was some kinda Rain-X thingy...oh well, I'll stick to cleaning my glasses with water to get away the grime (which usually isn't much) and a glasses cleaning cloth.
